First Aid Certification
Basic First Aid Certification involves learning techniques to provide the level of support to maintain a victims status until the paramedics and EMT’s arrive. Basic First Aid is just that it’s Basic. Though there may be quite a bit of material in this class, the level of training does not require extensive medical knowledge. The course material is designed specifically for the general public. As stated earlier the purpose of this class is to give you simple knowledge and techniques to help maintain a victim in a manageable status until person(s) with a greater training arrive to provide additional treatment. The course offered are as follows:
Basic First Aid: This course prepares the student with the knowledge required by most agencies as first providers. You will learn how to asses victim symptoms, control bleeding and manage shock. This course is offered by itself and can be used to complete workplace requirements if a student possesses a current CPR card from the same agency of the card. The course takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete.
PediatricPlus This course is designed by Medic First Aid international to fulfill Daycare and Teacher requirements for First Aid and CPR. This course takes approximately 6 to 8 hours.
CPR/AED/BFA: This course combines the two aspects of Basic Life Support, Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) and Basic First Aid (BFA). The course follows the guidelines of CPR/AED and Basic First Aid for the workplace. This course does meet most requirements for Adult care workers, Daycare providers and designated First Responders in a workplace setting. This course takes approximately 4 to 6 hours to complete.
CPR Pro/BFA: This course is designed specifically for professionals working in a first responder situations such as hospital staff, police officers, firefighters, and workplaces. This course includes CPR/AED and the And the Basic First Aid Course. This course does meet the entrance requirements for students applying to the EMT courses offered at the community colleges. This course takes approximately 7 to 8 hours to complete.
Blended Learning: For those of you whom have time restraints, all of the CPR/AED/BFA classes can be done in a blended format. Call or register and purchase the program you desire, and complete the educational portion online at your convenience. Once you complete the course, print out the certificate and schedule a class for the skills application testing. Typically the skills application will take approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the class.
Skills Application: Skills application test involves a Instructor visibly observing the students performing and evaluating the techniques taught with the online training. NOTE:Student must print the certificate after successful completion of the online training. Instructors cannot issue a certification card without your completion certificate.
